Jennifer Batten Independent Artist Scholarship, Musicians Institute, USA

The Jennifer Batten Independent Artist Program Scholarship is provided to encourage and support the educational growth and career objectives of a newly enrolling Independent Artist Program student in honor of MI alumnus, world-class guitarist and successful independent artist Jennifer Batten.

The scholarship will be awarded in Spring 2014 to a new student (US or non-US citizens) enrolling in the Musicians Institute Independent Artist Program who clearly articulates their career goals in the music industry, as well as why they should be considered for the scholarship in a 500 word essay.
The scholarship is applicable for students enrolled in the Independent Artist Program Scholarship only, and may not be transferred to any other program.

Award:
$1,000.00 tuition credit ($1,000.00 per quarter for the first quarter of the program as long as the recipient maintains satisfactory progress).

Eligibility and Conditions:
Newly-enrolling Independent Artist Program Scholarship students only. US citizens and non-US citizens are eligible. Awardee must maintain enrollment at 12 units (fulltime status) during the full length of award period. Failure to maintain enrollment and satisfactory academic progress in Independent Artist Program Scholarship for the full duration of the scholarship may result in withdrawal of the award.

Complete a Jennifer Batten Independent Artist Program Scholarship application.

Provide the completed application form including:
SHORT ESSAY: An essay (maximum of 500 words) clearly explaining your background, career goals in the music industry and why you should be considered for the scholarship.

Application Deadline:
For programs beginning: Spring 2014
Submit application by: February 28, 2014
